Q: acura…………….?
theres a acura car that made 150 thousand mile n itz 1994
for 2 thousand dollar…. is that good can the acura take alot of millages

A: its still reliable my 94 integra has 250K+ miles and it still runs great. that was one of Honda’s goals when he started his company

Q: What model Acura Integra is the best for customization and performance?
What model Acura Integra is the best for customization and performance
And based on your answer what would insurance be (16 yrs old) and how much is the car itself.

A: integra gsr…you want late 1900’s maybe a 96 or 97.they are fast to begin with and offer good mileage too. insurance would be a little much as it is a sports coupe but the car itself maybe run you anywhere from $3500-$5000 maybe 6 if you find a very nice one but mostly all gsr’s will be molested and modded.

Q: How many miles should a brand new Acura TL have when it comes from the factory?
Im buying a new Acura TL and i was wondering how many miles an Acura tl has when it comes into the dealers lot. In other words, when its coming from the factory.

A: I used to work for a Honda-Acura dealership. When they would come off the truck, the most I ever saw one have on it was 2 miles. That is the most that any new car should have on it.

Q: Are there any advantages to selling at an Acura dealership comapred to a lower priced KIA?
I have a job offer to sale cars at a KIA store and an Acura store that requires a college degree. The Kia store is full of salesman that smoke on the lot and dress very unprofessional. The Acura dealer has professionally dressed salesman and smoking on the lot is not allowed. Is the money better at higher end dealerships or is the only real advantage atmosphere?

A: the acura store will pay you better in commissions. there’ll be a wider profit margin between cost and retail (the gross). the cheaper a car is the less profit margin the dealer has on it. a 12000 dollar car only has around 100-300 dollars in margin in it as opposed to an acura that might have 3 or 4000 in margin. if you get paid 20% commission then you can clearly see which will pay you more.
of course, if the KIA store has a wild bonus program and you can work it properly you may be able to make the same money as the acura store but then the atmosphere comes into play.

if it was me i’d work at the acura store. just keep in mind that you’ll need to know your stuff cuz the typical buyer at the acura store will be highly educated as opposed to the buyer at the KIA store.

Q: How to covert a 2001 acura integra with an automatic transmission into a manual?
I have a 2001 acura integra. I love my car but saddly it is an automatic. What would I need to convert it into a manual. Time and money are not a factor

A: if money is not a factor go for it, it may cost alot.

“I just did an auto to manual swap over the weekend. I did all my research on this forum. Not all
of the threads were complete, so I decided to make a complete one.

I already had turbo in my car, but it sucked because it was an auto. This was worth it.
I have a 97 Integra LS.

Parts list

1. Manual Tranny with the fork and pilot bearing and flywheel cover. (I gotta LS for my turbo setup)
2. Clutch with pressure plate (I gotta Clutch Master from Ultrarev.com $409)
3. Flywheel (I gotta Clutch Master from Ultrarev.com $187)
4. All flywheel and pressure plate bolts (automatic ones are different)
5. Manual Starter with the 2 bolts (one long and one short)
6. Front tranny mount
7. Manual Rear support bracket (the one in the back that connects the tranny and the block)
8. Manual Front Tranny mount (it’s the arm with 3 holes in it, the automatic is different)
9. Upper Tranny Conversion mount (I got mine from Hasport for $175, its a must, unless you want to modify
a stock manual mount. The automatic mount will not fit.)
10. clutch pedal (brake and gas are optional, I just cut my brake smaller and got
covers for the pedals. looks alright.
11. clutch master with clutch reseviour
12. slave cylinder
13. hard clutch lines going from clutch master to slave cylinder
14. soft clutch line between the hard clutch lines and slave cylinder
15. shift linkages with the pin and clamp for the shifter and
the 2 washers and bolt that support the stablizer
16. shifter
17. shift knob (skunk2)
18. manual shift console with shift boot
19. Everyone says that you need manaul axels and intermediate shaft, but
I was able to get away with using my automatic ones. But if you’re not sure
get the manual ones. I wasn’t sure either, but I had a set when I bought the tranny.
20. Optional Manual ECU. I bought one, but didn’t use it becuase the wiring harness is different
for automatics. My automatic one works just fine.
21. All the nuts and bolts to bolt in the new parts. Look on http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/ to see what you need.
You’re probably going to need all the tranny bolts, the three bolts for the front tranny mount,
the starter bolts, the shift linkage bolts, flywheel, and pressure plate bolts, also optional is
the silver arm that connects the tranny and block from the bottom. the automatic one is different.
22. Crucial tools: Something to cut metal, breaker bar, drill, and torque wrench for flywheel and pressure plate (19 lbs)
I was able to do the swap with a 137 piece crafsman tool set. You’ll also need some sheet metal.

Getting Started

1. I spent over a year collecting the parts, its up to you on how long you want to search. I searched ebay and junk yards.
Make sure you get the right parts, people on ebay sell automatic parts listed as manual parts.
Make sure you know your stuff.

2. I took whole motor out (highly recommended) because it’s easier that way and I need to change the timing belt.
You also need to take out the automatic shifter console. Make sure it’s in Park.

3. Once you get the motor out, take off the automatic tranny and all the torque converter.

4. Put the flywheel with bearing, clutch, and pressure plate on. Make sure you torque it right with a torque wrench.

5. Make sure your tranny has the right pilot bearing. I got one from Clutch Master that came with my
clutch. It did not work. It was too thick. I had to take my tranny out again to replace it when
I was done. What a pain in the A$$.

6. Bolt on the tranny. If you want, you can test the tranny if it works. Put it into first gear
with the shift linkage, put an axel in one side and turn it to see if the cluch is gripping.
You’ll know it’s gripping if the other side where the axel goes in is also turning.
This is what I should have done before I put the motor back in.

7. The automatic tranny had an extra throttle cable and clips. The manual one only needs the
speed sensor and the the reverse lights

8. Just put the motor back in and all your axels and stuff and Add your fluids.

9. Where the automatic shifter is, there’s a cover welded onto the bottom to protect the cable.
That needs to be cut out. I cut mine out from inside the car. If you don’t cut it out, the
shift linkage will not fit. Just cover it up with sheet metal later with silicone to seal it.

10. You’ll also need to drill the 2 holes to bolt up the shiftl linkage stablizer bar. They’re
already marked for you. It’s the 2 outline of holes that aren’t drilled yet.

11. Put the clutch lines in with teflon tape. They don’t need to be bolted on. I just left mine hanging.
Then you need to put in the clutch pedal and bleed the clutch.

12. When the shifter and clutch is in, the you’ll want to do the wiring. I found this picture on the internet.
It really helped alot, but the directions where kinda of confusing so I cleaned it up a little.

Q: (Acura Integra Radio)What is a suggested price on how much i should sell my factory head unit?
I have a 2001 Acura Integra LS radio head unit. I took it right out after i got the car, and I have no need for it. Does anyone know a suggested price to sell it for? I want to get as much money for as i can.

A: $25

Q: How can i convert my 1992 Acura Integra from automatic to Manual tranny?
Converting 1992 Acura integra from auto to manual How do i do it and can anyone help me on how to start this project. Please i need answers asap.

A: Honestly you can get a 96-97 GSR for the price of the swap. There is way more to this than just swapping the tranny. Your total cost of doing this and doing it correctly is about $5000-$7000. You will need tranny, tranny mounts, axles, flywheel from the manual car, ECU from the manual car, COMPLETE wiring harness from the manual car, shift linkages, shifter, shift boot, center console to accept the shifter, the three pedal assembly because the size and placement of the brake in the automatic will not allow the clutch pedal to operate properly, clutch master cylinder, hydraulic lines, and someone that has done this swap before. I cannot stress this enough GET A PROFESSIONAL TO DO THIS!!!! You will be putting your life as well as others at risk with a junk install and used parts.

Q: How to let others not to buy an Acura?
I have a 2001 acura that has continued transmissions problems. A few years back the transmission was replaced and now it has failed again and is just out of warranty. Acura refuses to fix it although this is a know problem and has been for quite some time. I am looking for suggestions on how to let others know that acura makes bad products and then refuses to stand behind them.

A: first all did you buy the car new? and if you bought it used u should have car faxed it. Iam with the others acura makes a great car i have had 4 acuras i have had the integra, acura cl type s, the acura mdx, and now i have an acura rdk, all have been excellent vehicles, except for the acura cl had transmission problem it was a recall and they fixed it for free, maby its the driver, you should ask other people before you assume that its the company you know slander is illegal and that just what you doing! see if other people with the same car are having the same problem ok

Q: Why is my Acura hard to start when hot?
I have an Acura Legend 1989, a very nice and reliable car until now. Sometimes (50% of the time) when I make a quick stop (at the gas station, for example) the car will not start again until after about 20 minutes.

I replaced the spark plugs, the wires, the distributor cap and rotor. I change the oil regularly. I add an injectors cleaner regularly.

Have you had a similar problem with your vehicle? Is there any sensor that needs to be replaced? What do you recommend besides getting rid of the car?
I know the problem is not the starter because the engine moves while trying to start the car.

A: The reason your Acura won’t start when it is hot is because of the main relay under the dash. In warm weather, the relay will heat up causing it not to respond. this relay controls the fuel pump. no fuel, no start.go to your local honda or acura dealer and purchase the part from them. i deal with this on a daily basis at work, a honda dealership.

Q: How much is a new clutch for a acura integra?
How much is a new clutch for a 99′ acura integra? How often do you typically need to change it?
How do i know if my clutch is slipping?

A: We replaced the clutch in my son’s ‘94 Integra last year. He bought the parts but I recall it was in the $200-$300 range.

Replacement was an adventure, harder than any other I have done. Most of it was pretty straightforward, but because of the shape of things the bellhousing had to rotate about 30 degrees to drop it out the bottom (jackstands provided enough room). That wasn’t so bad, but it meant the transmission jack could not be used and that was a big problem when it came time to remount it. Normally there is a need to get it lined up vertically and wiggle to get the shaft in the pilot bearing, but in this case it had to rotate too. I actually strained a muscle in my face getting it lined up – it hurt for days. One more complication – we had a devil of a time getting the pilot bearing out until we realized it came out the back side of the flywheel. The flywheel has to come off and then it is easy.

His clutch was not slipping, but it made a grinding noise when the clutch pedal was depressed in gear. One of the springs had worn through the cage and was scraping on the flywheel or pressure plate. That seems to be a pretty common failure mode for Acura clutches.

Q: What type of light bulb is a 2000 acura integra highbeam?
I want to know what type of light bulb a 200 acura integra, if it is the same as the low beams or not.

A: no, go to the auto parts store and they will look it up for you

Q: How to sound proof the interior of my 1995 Acura integra?
It is old and the upholstery is torn a little bit. I am planning to just do some minor fixups for the torn upholstery. While I am at it, is there anything that could be done to reduce the external road noise inside? Basically, if I have to listen to music inside the car, I have to play it at the high volume. Any suggestions for sound proofing and how much it would cost? It is a ‘95 Acura Integra – fabric interior

Thanks

A: you can pull all the interior out of it and use a product called dyno -matt,its sound proofer and does work really well ,its pretty expensive though but well worth what is cost.you can find it at this web site, they have plenty of it,i use it and i like the way it does,,good luck with it, http://eastwood.com/

Q: How do you know if your Acura is recalled?
I have a 2008 Acura TL, how do I find out if it’s included in the recall. According to recalls information possible engine fire and wiper blades could stop working. I bought the car used from an independent dealership, would I still get a letter from Honda. I don’t have an Acura near me, or any number I can call? Any help, thanks.

A: Acura will send you a letter in the mail if your car is recalled. You can call Acura before hand to see if your vehicle is included, but you usually can’t schedule a repair until the official notice is sent to you.

Q: I have a 92 Acura Legend and I was wondering what is the best oil to use?
My 1992 Acura legend is my baby with 176,000 miles and I’m really trying to see what I can get out of it for performance. I’m working on putting in a new air intake and a new exhaust system but before that, I’m ready for an oil change…

My friend told me to switch over to synthetic oil to help clean out the engine and get it running better. He told me to change the oil with synthetic for like 3 oil changes then continue with a synthetic blend. I’m willing to pay the money for it but should I switch over to full synthetic? If not, what should I use for performance?

Thanks for your help! It’s really appreciated!
Well thanks for your answers…

Yes it is a 92 and yes it does have 176k miles on it but its an engine that will last another 100k to 150k if taken care of well. The body is still in good condition so why not fix it up? I’m not asking for a racing beast or anything, just something where I can punch it and it has a really good kick to it…

ALSO oil does make a huge difference in a car’s performance…

I’ll stick with 5w-30 mobile 1

A: stick with 5/30
any brand will be fine
synthetic is a waste of money
oh that intake and exhaust is also a big waste of money too
is a 92 with 170k
