Q: What is better 2010 corvette Z06 or ZR1 durability wise?
I was just wondering what is better durability wise (I know the zr1 is faster) but who is more durable Z06 or ZR1?

A: well they aint been out long enough to know if they are very durable, expecially the zr1, i would get the z06 as long as you are not planning on putting a supercharger on it, and if you do just dont run high psi, motor trend said chevy thought about putting a supercharged ls7 in the zr1, but backed out cause cylinder walls were to thin

Q: Whats different in the 2010 corvette zr1 and the 2009 zr1?

A: They changed a few of the options for exterior color, if that really matters.
It’s .3 inches shorter, probably thanks to the 9 lb increase.
And a few other unnoticeable changes.

Hey guys im turning 18 and am curious how much would it cost to put a turbo charger on my corvette to add about 400 hp-600hp and a body kit. Thanks in advance

A: You would be better off super charging a Corvette vs turbo charging.

You can put a Procharger on for about $7,000 installed. Go to West Coast Corvettes and check out the options. Magnusson’s are a little more expensive, and will require an after market hood as well. This may not be an issue if you are going with a body kit.

Check out East Coast Superchargers – they do great work. However, unless you don’t care about the warranty on the car, supercharging or turbocharging WILL void the warranty.

You may also want to consider upgrading the brake system to the ZO6 brakes (or comparable aftermarket). That much more horsepower will require better stopping power.

All this being said, I would not do any of the above. Go with a cold air induction unit, long tube headers, hi flow cats and a good exhaust system (recommend Corsa). Better than that, just buy a ZO6 or a ZR1.

Something to consider…A stock C6 Corvette with 436hp will smoke 95% of the cars on the road. The car only weighs 3100lbs. Doing the above will give you about 35-40 more hp which will take care of another 2-3%.

Q: Is GM going to continue to make the ZR1 Corvette for the 2010 model year?
I have heard GM is going to discontinue production of the ZR1 Corvette, is this true?

But as far as business terms go i dont see the benefit of keeping it around since the company is having such money problems…

As far as the money into designing it that isnt much at all to them…you’re probably only talking about ten million or so invested in it..(in big business, thats nothing). When the fact remains that their just isnt a big demand for the vehicle to actually run full production of it.

Right now 90% of consumers are shopping for price and economy… Not high horsepower and high price tags…

Just the way it is… So i’d be surprised if they did anything.. Right now i’m just curious if they will even be around as a company in 2010.

Oh yeah, the Corvette would be the basic kind.

A: well, i have a C6 coupe and I love it. I got it with an LS3 that makes430hp and upgraded it with lingenfelter to 570hp. I is fast.If you are going to get one I suggest getting it with the magnetic selective ride control so you can change the softness of the ride. You should get one. it is a great daily driver.

behind that you should get a camaro. the SS version will have an LS2 engine that makes 400. However, it is an old corvette engine used from 05-07 and dropped in 08 for the LS3. The camaro is a beautiful car though. I would get one and it is and in my opinion, will always be a step above the Mustang. the camaro used to also be called the 4-seater corvette.

So i wouldn’t even think of getting a Z because they will never be able to compete with a corvette or even a camaro. It is kind of interesting why people think that the mustang or Z are the fastest cars and they try to race a porche, corvette, or other cars that can easily beat them.

Well also, if possible, I would like some details about the car like what the power is like, how fast, pricing, and general stuff. What do you prefer and which one do you think is best for a flashy car. Personally I like the Camaro but I still want to get all the info from other people as well before making my decision. A: imo, you should buy one of each. try them each out for six months and then sell the one you like least.

A: It should, I dont see why not unless you got some really big rims, like 22”. Those might not fit. I would recommend you go and measure the diameter space you have so you get a good idea of how big you can go.

A: I would say that even the $25,000.00 including install is a low estimate.
Not sure what the engine from a ZR1 would cost but I know that a LS7 which is going to be much cheaper will cost you $15,000.00 just for the engine not to mention all the other parts you will need to make it work. You would most likely hit the $25,000.00 mark just for the engine and parts for the engine.

So lets just say that you spend 25,000.00 on the 2001 Camaro and another $25,000.00 for the engine and parts do the install your self. You then have a $50,000.00 car why not just buy a ZO6 brand new they are $75,000.00. If you go with a 08 or 09 you could get it for around $50,000.00 The top speed of a ZR1 is not that much better than the Z06.

I would have to say that yes having a 2010 Camaro would be extremely cool it would still be better to have a Z06 Corvette. The Z06 will handle better they look awesome and will get more attention than a 2010 Camaro.

A: I understand where your coming from. I really think both of them the ladies will like all around. Just get a mean sounding exhaust that can draw their attention when you rev it. Works everytime in my 2002 Trans Am. =]

Honestly, I’d get the Camaro. It’s be under warranty and the overall look interior and exterior is exceptional. I love Corvettes too, but the cost of insurance and replacement parts down the road might cost you a lot.
