A: I just got a 2007 dodge caliber about 2 months ago- and I love it- it was inexpensive (starting at under 15k without extra features)

There are a ton that you can get as long as you can do away with the special features.

Please help. I have moved to a rural area, and have not found a good job yet. My car is dead, my bankruptcy is just about to be cleared, and I’m working as a sub teacher for not enough money, but some.
The cars around here are 8K to start, and that’s for 70K miles, etc. I have a very wonderful BF who might take the loan for me and ask me to pay of course… I can’t seem to think logically due to guilt and the tremendous recent loss of independence.
Can anyone give me the straight on this? PS by rural I mean northern, mountainous, snowy, but not necessarily SUV-only territory.

A: Consider a Jeep Cherokee (the boxie one, not the grand Cherokee). They are cheap, reliable (I have one and my mom has one and neither of us have had problems *knock on wood*). They should fit the bill in your area and terrain. You might also consider a Chevy Cavalier that is a few years old.

Any new car is going to be at least 14K after taxes and such. If you buy a used car, especially one in the 7K range, you wont lose much if you sell the car in a few years and get a new car.

A: The most under valued cars right now are the big luxury cars. If you look for one with low miles, and about 7-10 years old, you can get an excellent deal. The reason being that the people who by those things, get them for a status symbol. In 7-10 years they are no longer a status symbol. Usually they get much better fuel economy and have greater power than other cars their size. A Lincoln Continental or town car is a great price right now if you buy late nineties and early 2000 models. Also Caddies and so fourth. Good luck. Hope you find a great one.

I’m planning on getting a car in the next year for myself. However do you think its be better to get a new cheap car such as Hyundai Accent or a 2001 Jaguar “S” in prestine condition? Cars come out to the same price in the end.

A: A new car would be a better choice as no one will have used it before u… Who knows about the history of the Jaguar… True a Jaguar is good for showing off & is more powerful but it will be expensive to maintain & run… Plus being an older model, u will have small problems surfacing now & then…S type is not a good luxury choice… The Accent is cheaper, more reliablr & economical!! It is yuor money well spent on the Accent!!!

A: The Nanos are an Indian made car without airbags. As such it won’t meet safety requirements for sale in the U.S.

Q: Getting new cars for cheap in the UK?
What Car Magazine sets a “target price” for people who will buy new cars in the UK. This target price almost always at least £1,000 less than the car list price.

How is someone supposed to find this target price? Do we go to different dealers, or just ask for a discount?

A: target price it what you should aim to pay- hence target. this is what the dealers should sell you the car for if you push, rarely will dealers insist on you paying full, unless they’re bast**ds like Porsche . What you need to do is play the dealers off against each other i.e. “well the garage down the road will give me free metallic paint and £1500 off” even if its not true, it works. they need your business. also try and find little faults i.e. if you were buying a BMW instead of a Merc, say you prefer one of the features of the merc and highlight the things like “but the mpg better on a Mercedes isn’t it?” then the BMW dealer will thing your wavering and start giving you incentives.

A: Why a new car? Haven’t you had your sophomore economic classes yet? Get a 1 or 2 year old that has already taken the big hit on depreciation.

Cars, lots of good cars out there. Corolla, Nissan, Honda, Kia and HYUNDAI all make good little cars. With the depression, lots of good low mileage vehicles are available.

One drawback, new cars generally get a better loan rate at the banks.

A: you can find a used toyota supra turbo around 95-97 they are wicked fast or find a mustang cobra or a saleen

Its for a 2000 corolla. Somewhere in the GTA area would be good. Was looking for a new battery that’ll cost me less then a hundred dollars?

Also my friends uncle works at some car place, and says he can sell me a nearly brand new toyota battery for $50… (its taken out of totalled cars)

A: Given the winters in toronto I would think a new battery with a guarantee is a must, have you tried canadian tire? A battery out of a totalled car could have all kinds of problems.

I have only been driving since january this year, i currently own a triumph spitfire that i have been restoring for the last two years, it is in really nice condition now and want something new, the insurance was only £756 for the first year which i was very pleased about.

If it is a modern car then factors such as its insurance group, value, where you live, your occupation and where it is kept overnight all go together to produce the premium.

So small engine, over 5 years old, kept off road at night is best.

I have a family of 5.
3 car seats right now.
I have a 2 year old, a 6 year old, and a 6 month old. So the baby is in the center and we are struggling with room in our Saturn Vue..its tight, but it works.

We are getting a second car. We want it to be cheap but have the capability to hold 3 cars seats. (1 booster w/no back, 1 carseat, 1 infant carseat)

The only catch I found with them is that although it’s free to bid online, they do have a auction fee if you win a car for example, you win a car for $2,000 they add $220. So you have to pay $2200 when its all said and done, but The car is already like $2000 less then anywhere else so it’s not too bad.
